Hôtel Globe et Cécil ReviewNear place Bellecour, this hotel is a good deal because of its location and attentive staff. Built as a private mansion during France's 19th-century Gilded Age, it became a hotel in 1892. Today the six-story property (with elevator) is a government-rated three-star staple. Some of the individually decorated rooms are old-fashioned and charmingly dowdy; others are more modern and efficient. Many restaurants are nearby.
