If I were looking for a real resort experience—that is, away from the hustle and bustle of traffic, crowds, and casinos—this is where I'd go. Located on an isolated stretch of coast on Colôane Island, it's a great place to relax. It appeals to families with its outdoor wading pool and Westin's Kids' Club, which keeps the little ones occupied while parents laze by the pool, take on a round of golf, a tennis game, or a free yoga class. For an easy excursion, Hac Sa Beach is within walking distance, and downtown Macau is only a 20-minute ride away. Rooms are generously sized and face either the South China Sea with full frontal views (these cost more, especially those on the upper floors of the eight-storied, tiered building) or more sideways toward the beach. But the true selling point of this property is that each room's private terrace is huge by any standards, complete with patio furniture and plants, the perfect place to relax with a book or evening cocktail. If your travels have you stressed, this is the perfect antidote, at a very affordable price that makes this one of Macau's best values.
