Frommer's Review
This classic 1960s-style ski lodge attracts a clientele that's nearly fanatical in its devotion to the place. One reason might be charismatic (and opinionated) owner Betsy Pratt, who was formerly co-owner with her late husband of Mad River Glen before she sold it to the cooperative that runs the mountain today. Don't come expecting a fancy place -- carpets and furniture tend toward the threadbare. Instead, come expecting to have fun. It's all knotty pine; spartan guest rooms and rustic common rooms help visitors feel at home putting their feet up. Accommodations are in the two-story barn behind the white clapboard main house and in an annex building, which is a bit fancier but with less character. In winter, dinners are served in boisterous family style. In summer, the mood is slightly more sedate but enhanced by a beautiful pool a short walk away in a grove of birches.
Facilities:
