Approached on a roadway flanked by fig trees and chinaberry, this is a beautifully restored antique farmhouse 15km (9 miles) south of the capital of Mahón, between the villages of Sant Lluís and Es Castell. Since the owner is an opera buff, he's named all the rooms after composers, including Bellini, Puccini, Verdi, Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. The rooms are tasteful, elegant, and harmoniously decorated, often with antiques. Stables have been converted to accommodate more guests, but, in spite of their individual terraces, these are less desirable than units in the main house. There is much of a house party feel about the place in summer. The chef de cuisine concocts a superb menu based on the day's fresh products.
