]This is one of the town’s chief gathering spots; locals have appropriately dubbed it “Chester’s Living Room” (it sits on the main corner in town). Not only is it Nova Scotia’s oldest rural pub, the building dates to 1764 and was previously a grocery store, stable, and inn. These worn wooden floors have been trod by man and beast for centuries, although the pool table brings it more into the 1950’s. The pub grub is good—the grilled pizza, especially, is well made—and the on-tap beer plentiful. Check the website for the live music schedule.
