Frommer's Review

In the historic zone of Mainz, about a 3-block walk from the rail terminus, this Hilton is a bit livelier than its sibling. Although the rooms are about the same in both Hiltons, we prefer the relatively subdued atmosphere here and the more personal staff. We also like the architectural touches, including an ancient wall discovered during reconstruction. The wall was preserved and now frames the courtyard terrace. Rooms are a bit cookie cutter, but tasteful and spacious, each with a deluxe bathroom with a shower stall and deep tub. They're priced according to view and location; those on the top cost the most money because of their panoramic views and balconies. The least desirable are on the lower floors, facing a park.
