Frommer's Review
One of the oldest, largest, and most diverse of the Mamanuca resorts, Plantation primarily attracts Australian couples and families, plus day-trippers from Nadi. Like Mana Island, it has a Club Med-style atmosphere of nonstop activity. It shares Malololailai Island with Musket Cove Resort, but this end boasts one of the South Pacific's most picturesque palm-draped beaches, shallow though the lagoon may be at low tide. The resort has four types of accommodations: duplex bures suitable for singles or couples, two-bedroom bungalows for families, and motel-style rooms, some in a two-story building next to the beach, others surrounding a swimming pool and removed from the resort action (the latter are known as Plantation Village). All units have phones, but only the hotel rooms are air-conditioned. A large central building beside the beach has a bar, dance floor, lounge area, coffee shop, and restaurant. For a meal guests can also wander over to Musket Cove or Ananda's, a barbecue-oriented restaurant near the airport. There's a children's playroom with a full-time baby-sitter, making this a good choice for families.
