Frommer's Review
Sitting on Nacula Island beside one of Fiji's finest beaches, this is the best inexpensive retreat in the Yasawas. Although owned by Fijians, it was designed and built by Richard Evanson of Turtle Island , so in some respects this is an inexpensive version of his super-luxury resort. A live tree helps support the central building with a sand-floor dining room and bar (there is no communal kitchen here). Steep stairs lead upstairs to a one-room coed dorm, whose residents share toilets and warm-water showers with guest camping on the grounds. Although the tin-roof guest bungalows are a bit cramped, they are nicely appointed with wooden cabinets, full-length mirrors, reading lights over their double beds, porches with hammocks and chairs, screened louvered windows, and bathrooms with solar-heated showers. Paddle boats and canoes are available, plus gear for fabulous snorkeling. Backpacking or not, you'll find this no-frills resort to be an extraordinary bargain.

Restaurant; bar; watersports equipment rentals
