Wayfarer Inn

A short drive from downtown Manchester in the suburb of Bedford, the Wayfarer (also flagged as a Quality Inn affiliate) is a sprawling, architecturally unique hotel on the site of a historic grist mill. Especially popular during presidential primary years, it's a favored haunt of reporters and politicians, who like to conduct interviews in front of the mini covered bridge. New ownership is slowly renovating the property, adding more conference space and upgrading the health club and guest rooms. Units here are simply furnished but comfortable; pricier rooms have writing desks and refrigerators. It's located near malls and movies, which limits the charm but adds a certain convenience.
