Frommer's Review
This long-standing hotel has consistently offered up good values, ocean views, and reasonable proximity to the beaches and national park. Located more than halfway down the hill to Manuel Antonio, about a 10-minute walk from the beach, Costa Verde has continued to add new rooms and new buildings over the years, even swallowing up a neighboring project or two. Today there are rooms in a wide range of sizes and prices. Some of the buildings are located quite a hike from the hotel's reception and restaurants, so be sure you know exactly what type of room you'll be staying in and where it's located. The best rooms here have ocean views, kitchenettes, private balconies, and loads of space; some of these don't have air-conditioning, but that's no problem because they feature huge screened walls to encourage cross ventilation. There is also an enormous penthouse suite with a commanding view of the spectacular surroundings. Three small pools are set into the hillside, with views out to the ocean, and the hotel has a couple of miles of private trails through the rainforest.
