The hotel is built into a steep hillside, so it's a bit of a climb from the parking lot up to the guest rooms and restaurant. The rooms have the feel of a treehouse. Floors and walls are polished hardwood, and there are even rooms with tree-trunk pillars. The hotel's suites are the best value. These are built on either two or three levels. Both options have sleeping lofts; the three-story rooms also have rooftop decks. The whole complex is set in lush forest. Behind the hotel is a private reserve with 15km (9 1/3 miles) of trails and, at the top of the hill, a 15m-tall (49-ft.) observation tower with an incredible view. In addition to the popular Plinio Restaurant, there's a poolside grill where lunches are served. Plinio is located just outside of Quepos on the road toward the national park, so it's a bit far from the park entrance and beaches.
