This hotel is located right on the beach. The rooms are all quite large and have white-tile floors, high ceilings and get plenty of natural light. The open-air restaurant here is popular with guests and locals alike. El Coquito has a small kidney-shaped pool and ample grounds planted with coconut palms and other shade trees. When you hit the beach at Matapalo, turn right, and the hotel will be 100m (328 ft.) or so north. Starting in late 2007, this place was slated to begin a major overhaul, with modern condo units and a new restaurant to be added.
