Manzanillo's strip of coastline consists of three areas: downtown, with its shops, markets, and commercial activity; Las Brisas, the hotel-lined beach area immediately north of the city; and Santiago, the town and peninsula, now virtually a suburb, to the north at the end of Playa Azul. Reservations are recommended during the Easter, Christmas, and New Year's holidays.
