Puente Romano
Jet-set favorite Puente Romano began as a cluster of vacation apartments but came into its own in the 1970s as a luxurious and beautifully landscaped colony of high-end lodgings. The intervening decades have seen it mellow even further to become an Andulucían seaside village for the well-to-do. Guest rooms are spacious and have private or semi-private balconies or terraces. The grounds are a veritable maze of paths leading past fountains and little waterfalls, beneath arbors enshrouded in vines or flowers, and patches of blooming gardens. Puente Romano has always prided itself on exquisite gastronomy, and a few years ago agreed to sell 80 of its lodgings to chef Nobu Matsuhisa to operate as his own hotel. In truth, the Nobu rooms are almost indistinguishable from the others at Puente Romano.
