15 miles NE of Boston

One of the prettiest of Boston’s “North Shore” communities, Marblehead has scenery, history, architecture, and shopping—making it one of the area’s most popular day trips for both locals and visitors. The narrow streets of historic Old Town are rich with homes and buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries. Those same streets lead down to the magnificent harbor that helps make Marblehead the self-proclaimed “Yachting Capital of America.” Plaques on many homes give the dates of construction as well as the names of the builders and original occupants—a history lesson without any studying.
