Narwama ReviewOwner Ali Bousfiha's Narwama has all the markings of a trendy restaurant. The former DJ pumps his own mix of world lounge music into the former UNESCO World Heritage building, which has a huge central courtyard and two adjoining salons swathed in hues of deep ocher and charcoal. Low-lying, candlelit tables with dark cushioned chairs surround a fountain of flames and water (the restaurant's name translates to "fire and water" in Arabic), and an attentive and attractive staff usher Thai, Moroccan, and Mediterranean dishes to locals and tourists alike. All three cuisines have equal importance in the kitchen, with specialty chefs for each (including two from Thailand). The menu is lengthy and includes almost 100 dishes. It's not cheap, but there's something for everyone, and the servings are filling without being oversize. Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. | 2 stars | Frommer's Very Highly Recommended | |
| 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
