Frommer's Review
This bookstore-cum-restaurant isn't easy to find, but once you're inside and slouched into one of the chocolate velvet chairs or lounges, you may not want to leave. Converted from an upstairs apartment and a downstairs garage, the space is simple and uncluttered with lots of windows and a fireplace in the restaurant. The bookstore is stocked from floor to ceiling with more than 2,000 new and second-hand fiction and nonfiction titles in both English and European languages. There is also a well-stocked collection of books on Morocco, as well as recently published English-language newspapers and magazines. A few strategically placed armchairs beckon the reader to sit down with coffee and cake; bring your laptop because free Wi-Fi is also available. The dining and reading areas are separated by an open kitchen from where salads, soups (try the pumpkin and ginger), sandwiches and burgers, a mushroom risotto, and freshly baked cakes are available. Brunch-style breakfasts and an afternoon high tea -- served between 4 and 6pm with a complimentary brownie -- are also part of the daily routine. Try the tapas plate of hummus, tapenade, aubergine d'caviar, and pâté for an early dinner, when a selection of beers, wines, and spirits is also available.
