Frommer's Review
This is one of the best value riads of this standard within the medina. Maria, an English-speaking Spaniard who also converses effortlessly in French, opened this place in 2006. This is a traditional dar rather than riad, and the small courtyard is only open on three sides, as it is bordered by a brilliant white wall on one side. A small fountain at its base is a pleasant concession to the dar's name, which translates to "Riad of Water," and leads to a small, brightly colored salon where guests can watch a movie or listen to music. The comfortable rooms are named after the colors that grace their walls -- green, orange, pink, turquoise, or white. Strips of colored glass beads are all that separate the bedroom from the bathroom, so make sure you're comfortable with your roommate. The rooftop is literally the crowning glory of Maia, with funky woven-grass chairs, umbrellas, and a small covered salon with a flop-down lounge. It can be a bit difficult to find the correct lane that leads to the riad, but its location is very convenient to both Jemaa el Fna and the sights and restaurants within the southern section of the medina.
