Another very popular budget-traveler haunt, this hotel is down a quiet lane within a few minutes' stroll from Jemaa el Fna. Rooms of different sizes and configurations -- some with a private bathroom and air-conditioning -- are spread throughout two former mansions that are connected by a rooftop terrace. The German-Moroccan owners preside over their staff, who are renowned among former guests for their genuine friendliness. The breakfast (50dh) in the rooftop tent is just as warmly received, while the Sherazade's close proximity to the nearby mosque -- and its early morning muezzin -- sometimes isn't.
