As a young man, Ahmed Ouahmane learned his trade in the thuya woodworking center of Essaouira before moving to Marrakech 20 years ago to open a small shop in the medina. He's since moved to bigger premises, and offers an impressive range of thuya homewares, including lamp bases, and chests and jewelry boxes inlaid with mother-of-pearl. Shop manager Aziz is always on hand to assist customers. Open daily.
