This hotel evokes the grandeur of 19th-century life in Marseille. It's less than 2 blocks from the Vieux Port, in the heart of town. The sun and mistrals of many seasons have battered the Beaux Arts facade, decorated with ornate corbels and cornices. Renovations have stripped the guest rooms of some of their old-fashioned charm, but have left efficient, soundproof spaces. Each unit has a compact bathroom with a shower and tub. Breakfast is the only meal served, but the neighborhood abounds with dining options.
