This tranquil retreat, built after World War II, lies atop a cliff along the corniche, about 3km (2 miles) east of the Vieux Port. Partly because of its garden, it may remind you of a well-appointed private home. A Provençal mas (farmhouse) in the garden holds four large rooms that are more luxurious and atmospheric than those in the main building. Some of the beds are baldachin-style (canopied); floors have Provençal tiles; bathrooms are relatively large, with tub/shower combos; and furnishings are romantic. Rooms in the main building are cheap, modern, and streamlined, with tub/shower combos, and not terribly romantic.
