Frommer's Review
It's a bit of an adventure to take the long drive down winding country roads into the heart of the Vineyard to this low-key fine-dining restaurant. This pricey but popular up-island venue is earning raves for the high quality of the food and service. From the outside, it looks like a modest roadhouse; the inside is simply decorated, with the work of island artists featured on the walls and tables. The menu changes often as the chef combines unusual ingredients with island produce, meats, and locally caught fish. For appetizers, you can choose between something simple like potato soup with smoked haddock croquettes, or something more elaborate such as seared Edgartown bay scallops, celery root, broccoli rabe, and artichokes. Main courses range from roasted monkfish with pesto and a cannellini bean stew; to a pork loin chop with apple, parsnips, and Brussels sprouts. The restaurant is located in West Tisbury, a dry town, so you must BYOB here.
