Beach Plum Inn ReviewThis 8-acre property is tucked away in Menemsha yet is within walking distance of the harbor. There's a croquet course and Nova Grass tennis court on the grounds, plus bikes to take exploring (extra charge). The well-kept rooms are in the main inn and in four cottages, which contain six additional rooms. The room decor is predominantly cottage-y, though some rooms lean toward elegance. Linens are exceptional. Half the rooms have whirlpool baths. Most have decks or patios, some with views of Menemsha Harbor. One room is wheelchair-accessible. Inn guests get beach passes to the private up-island beaches. The inn's restaurant is one of the best fine-dining spots on the island. | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
