Shopping in Mashpee is pretty much limited to the Mashpee Commons, at the Mashpee rotary, routes 151 and 28 (tel. 508/477-5400; www.mashpeecommons.com). Designed to resemble an ideal New England village (right down to the sidewalk measurements, modeled on Woodstock, Vermont), Mashpee Commons is a gussied-up shopping complex with a facadelike feel. This is where you'll find such chains as Gap, Talbots, and Starbucks. There's also M. Brann for retro accessories and the g. Green Design Center for all your "green" living supplies. For book hounds, there's Market Street Bookshop, 31 Market St. (tel. 508/539-6985), a fine independent bookstore. For current movies, try Regal Cinemas Mashpee Commons 6, 15 Steeple St. (tel. 508/477-7333).
