The 270-degree view spans the golf course, tennis courts, ocean, and Haleakala -- a worthy setting for Beverly Gannon's hearty staples, which include excellent mashed potatoes, jambalaya fresh fish, and prime rib, but the meatloaf (a whole loaf, like Mom used to make) seems to upstage them all. The Tuscan white-bean soup is superb, and the roasted pork shank with goat cheese grits and dried fruit compote is American home cooking at its best. Daily specials could be grilled ahi with white-truffle, Yukon-gold mashed potatoes or sautéed mahimahi with shrimp bisque and sautéed spinach. If chocolate cake is on the menu, you should definitely spring for it.
