Frommer's Review
This was a master stroke for Four Seasons: authentic Italian fare in a casual outdoor tropical setting, with a drop-dead gorgeous view of the ocean and the West Maui Mountains. Ferraro's is not inexpensive, but the food is first-rate. Lunch in the open-air restaurant features fabulous salads (my pick is the seared Hawaiian tuna niçoise salad), sandwiches (from a chicken pita to a grilled sirloin burger), and some Hawaiian classics (try the sesame-crusted salmon). At dinner the romantic setting, with the sound of the ocean waves, makes for a memorable evening. The fish selection is noteworthy: grilled ahi with a crispy basil risotto roll, candied bell peppers, goat cheese, and a pine-nut dressing, or pan-fried mahi with basil gnocchi. Make room for dessert -- my favorite is the roasted Maui pineapple cobbler with buttermilk rum ice cream.
