This is Maui's best bet for fabulous Mexican food at frugal prices (and the winner of the Taste of Lahaina Award for the last 3 years). And, believe it or not, this fast-food restaurant serves fresh, healthy food. The chef and owner is Paris Nabavi, creator of Maui's Pizza Paradiso Italian Kitchen. He wanted the "challenge of something different," so he took off to Mexico to find out how the Mexicans used to cook in "the old days." He's back on Maui with this unbelievably delicious eatery where everything is made from scratch. Even the corn tortillas are handmade daily. Signature dishes include the citrus-and-herb-marinated chipotle rotisserie chicken, the veggie Mariposa salad, and the popular mother-clucker flautas. Plus there's lip-smacking "al pastor" style adobo pork. All this at budget-pleasing prices. It's a great place to take the kids: Los Niños menu items are under $4.75.
