Frommer's Review
Perched right on the ocean, this tiny "tavern" is the brainchild of Mark and Judy Ellman, owners of Maui Tacos and Penne Pasta Café. They use healthy, organically grown food and fresh fish to make intriguing culinary dishes. The atmosphere could not be more enticing, with just a handful of tables out on the oceanfront lanai and several more tables in the warmly decorated interior. The staff is helpful and efficient, and the food is outstanding. If you are in the mood, ask for their exotic martini menu. You can pick from "tavern food" such as an ahi burger or cheeseburger, one of the tempting salads (the beet and Kula goat cheese salad is divine), or something off the "big plate" menu (such as wok-fried moi fish or glazed baby back ribs). Don't miss Saturday and Sunday brunch (I recommend their "killer" French toast). Warning: This is a popular place, so avoid prime lunch and dinner hours if you can.
