This bed-and-breakfast (where "you are never just renting a room") was the dream come true for hosts Tom Croly and Denise McKinnon, who after several years of vacationing to Maui, opened this three-unit property in 2002. Centrally located in the Maui Meadows subdivision (just a few minutes' drive to golf courses, tennis courts, white-sand beaches, shopping, and restaurants in Kihei and Wailea), they offer a one-bedroom, oceanview cottage with its own (high-speed) Internet-connected computer, a gourmet kitchen, two TV sets, washer/dryer, and wraparound decks. They also offer two rooms in the house (one with king-size bed, one with queen-size) with TV, private entrance, kitchenette (plus outdoor cooking area with barbecue grill, sink, and microwave), use of washer/dryer, and lots of other amenities not usually found in B&Bs. Every guest is given personal concierge treatment, from the low-down on good snorkeling to a tour of the property. Guests are invited to use the centrally located oceanview deck and the living room in the house, with its computer (with high-speed Internet connection). In the evenings Tom shows movies on the 8-foot-wide movie screen and frequently helps guests transfer their digital images to a CD, so they can go out and shoot more photos of Maui. They recently acquired a two-bedroom/two-bathroom condo, across the street from the beach, which they rent for $795 to $895 per week for one bedroom and $895 to $1,135 per week for two bedrooms.
