Mayne Island Kayak & Canoe Rentals (tel. 250/539-5599; www.maynekayak.com), at Seal Beach in Miner's Bay, rents kayaks and canoes for C$22 (US$16) for 2 hours, or C$42 (US$30) for a full day. The company will drop off kayaks at any of six launching points on the island, and, if you get stranded, will even pick up kayaks (and too-weary kayakers) from other destinations. A half-day sailboat excursion (C$140/US$112 for two) lets you explore the coasts of Mayne, Saturna, and the Pender islands; or you can arrange for the sailboat to deliver you to other island destinations.
