Introduction to Mayrhofen

The road divides at Zell am Ziller, and to reach Mayrhofen, head southwest on Route 169 to the popular resort. This resort, standing at 633m (2,077 ft.), enclosed by towering alpine peaks and lying at the foot of the glaciers crowning the adjacent Alps, is a premier summer holiday spot and winter playground, the finest in the valley in terms of facilities and accommodations. Some of the area's best food is served here. After a visit here, we recommend that you return to Zell and then go southeast to Gerlos.
