Angelo's ReviewEven locals consider this Italian restaurant one of the best in town, as much for its elegant ambience as for its food. Beveled-glass doors reveal a dining room gleaming with brass, polished wood, and crystal chandeliers. A pianist plays in the background as formally dressed waiters present menus featuring homemade pastas; veal, fish filets, and steaks (including osso bucco and chateaubriand); and a large selection of imported wines. The dress code forbids beachwear, jeans, tennis shoes, and flip-flops. This is a good place for that special occasion, although you may not feel like you're at the beach or in Mexico here. | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
