The most happening place on this stretch of the Zona Dorada, the rustic Hotel Playa Mazatlán remains enduringly popular with families, tour groups, and regulars who return annually for winter vacations or spring break. The quietest rooms lie in the four-story section surrounding the well-tended interior gardens; those by the terrace restaurant and beach can be noisy.
