Frommer's Review
One of Meknes's best restaurants is hidden by a very unassuming exterior that thankfully opens onto a lovely shaded garden and elegant tiled interior. Manager Aziz Bennouna presides over a long-serving team of uniformed waiters that are typically unobtrusive and professional. The menu covers a wide range of French and Italian cuisine, with more than 30 cold and hot starters; my favorite is a deliciously simple onion soup. These are followed by a variety of grilled meats, pastas, and seafood, delivered fresh every morning. There are also Moroccan standards such as lamb and beef tagine, and a couscous aux sept legumes that will easily feed two happy vegetarians. A three-course menu du jour usually consists of a grilled meat entree with soup and dessert. Speaking of desserts, try the crêpes suzette or flambée banane for something different.
