Similarly, the Memphis Center for Independent Living, 1633 Madison Ave. (tel. 901/726-6404; www.mcil.org), is a consumer-oriented organization that helps people with disabilities.
Wheelchair Getaways of Memphis, Tennessee (tel. 888/245-9944; www.wheelchair-getaways.com), rents specialized vans with wheelchair lifts and other features for the disabled.
