Stepping through the door into this unobtrusive restaurant in the suburbs of Mendoza, you may be reminded of a chic bistro in Buenos Aires. It's modern, stylish, and hip, with an avant-garde design that includes low tables, couches, and candles. The small menu features items not typical in the region -- red tuna with sesame seeds, tandoori duck. The delicate carpaccio is a source of deserved pride. It is all labor-intensive, creative, and unique. Surprise elements include a daily amuse bouche and palate cleanser. The wine list is extensive and detailed. It's worth finding this gem, and worth staying for the later-night lounge scene that follows dinner.
