Las Alcobas is a stylish boutique hotel appropriately situated in fashionable Polanco, on Presidente Masaryk, considered the Rodeo Drive of Mexico City. The hotel is impeccably designed by noted New York and Toronto-based designers Yabu Pushelberg, responsible for creating some of North America's more sophisticated hotel interiors. Las Alcobas prides itself on focusing on the details that make it worth its luxury price tag. From the morning wake-up call when the operator asks if you want tea or coffee (with free room-service delivery of the desired beverage within minutes) to the three-way mirror hidden behind rosewood paneled doors or the whimsical puzzle of Mexico tucked away in a nightstand drawer, few personal touches are overlooked.  The rooms have fine Italian bed linens by Rivolta Carmigiani and hypoallergenic goose down comforters and pillows, a state-of-the-art phone with a universal control to change light settings, complimentary fresh-squeezed juice upon arrival, and bathrooms with sunken marble tubs and artisanal soaps (free for the taking). For dining, turn to one of two upscale, gourmet restaurants—Dulce Patria or Anatol—neither of which will disappoint.
