Frommer's Review
Originally a department store, the Gran Hotel boasts one of the most splendid interiors of any downtown building. Step inside to see the lavish lobby with gilded open elevators on both sides, topped with a breathtaking 1908 stained-glass canopy by Jacques Graber.
On the fourth floor, overlooking the zócalo, El Mirador restaurant makes a great stop for a coffee or drink with a view.
