Frommer's Review
Although it is aging, the Camino Real remains one of the capital's top spots for business and social entertaining, and frequently sells out. Set amid Mexico's finest museums, it's a work of art in itself. Designed by renowned architect Ricardo Legorreta, the building is a classic example of contemporary Mexican architecture; more than 400 works of art by Mexican masters and other celebrated contemporary artists complement the design. Spacious rooms are brightly colored with a sitting and desk area and armoires that conceal the TV and minibar. Some could use a renovation. Executive Club rooms come with bathrobes; rates here include continental breakfast, evening cocktail hour, and daily newspaper. The hotel houses a branch of China Grill, the 24-hour Bice Bistro, and the first Le Cirque restaurant outside of the U.S. The lobby's Blue Lounge -- with waterfall and seating on an acrylic floor over a pool -- occasionally features live music.
Facilities:
6 restaurants; popular bar w/live entertainment; outdoor pool; gym; sauna; steam room; concierge; travel agency; car rental; full-service business center; salon; 24-hr. room service; massage; laundry service; dry cleaning

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
