Frommer's Review
This bargain hotel enjoys a stellar location 1 block north of Calle Tacuba on tree-shaded Calle Donceles, half a block from the Templo Mayor and a block from the Museo San Ildefonso. Guest rooms have purified drinking water from a special tap, over-bed reading lights, and TVs with U.S. cable channels. Some have tub/shower combinations, and others have whirlpool tubs. Rooms on the upper floors afford views of Mexico City's mammoth cathedral. On the seventh floor, a terrace with small tables and chairs offers great views. The Catedral's location is ideal for sightseeing in the Historic Center. Because heavily trafficked streets surround the hotel, add 45 minutes to your departure time if you go to the airport from here. In front of the big, marble-embellished lobby lies the bustling restaurant. The cozy bar beyond the reception desk also serves food. Ask for a top-floor room with a view.
