Frommer's Review
Reminiscent of a small European luxury hotel, this exquisite establishment opened in 1996 after restoration of a dilapidated 1923 building. It has since been designated an artistic monument by Mexico's National Institute of Fine Arts. Each uniquely decorated room includes antique furniture. Tall interior shutter doors on guest-room windows keep out sound and light at night, and thick glass mutes street noise by day. Oriental-style rugs warm the hardwood floors throughout. A small wine cellar and bar below the lobby is a popular gathering place for drinks and conversation. The hotel lies 3 blocks south of the Diana Circle on Reforma, and 4 longish blocks west of the western edge of the Zona Rosa. Chapultepec Park is about a 20-minute walk to the northwest. More important than decor or location is the excellent service here -- truly capable of pampering you.
