Located next to the city's historic central square, this unique Holiday Inn is decorated in colonial Mexican style with colorful art, antiques, handicrafts, and other charming touches. In fact, it's one of the most inviting Holiday Inns I've seen anywhere. Photos of old Mexico City hang in the guest rooms, which have high ceilings, hardwood floors, marble bathrooms, robes, and modern conveniences such as wireless Internet access. Nonsmoking rooms are available. The rooftop terrace overlooks the zócalo, and the hotel also features a small restaurant, gym, concierge, and travel services. The multilingual staff caters to an international clientele that includes mostly Europeans and Americans.
