Frommer's Review
Developed by the same group that brought Hotel Habita to Polanco, Condesadf became the city's hottest place to stay after opening in 2005. Housed in a 1928 triangular Beaux Arts building, it features several rooms and bars that open onto a plant-filled interior courtyard. These spaces tend to be popular for small VIP parties and special events, which makes it a perfect place to check in on the local who's who. Interiors were fashioned by the French designer India Mahdavi, described as "Mexican with a twist" -- stone floors, alpaca carpets, and a heavy dose of turquoise accents offset by cream leather sofas. Guest rooms feature high ceilings, balconies or terraces overlooking Parque España, hand-woven rugs, rocking chairs, flatscreen TVs, DVD players, and iPods. The rooftop sushi lounge is generally packed with the city's beautiful people, and a basement "cinema" screening room transforms into a sizzling nightclub Thursday through Saturday nights.

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
