The Forge

Like many of its most loyal, uh, seasoned customers, The Forge underwent a major nip/tuck and traded its dark roots for a lighter, blonder look and a menu that focuses on organic, locally sourced foods. The bar is stunning in a refreshingly rich, not stark, way, and its electronic dispensing wine system turns oenophiles into kids on a video-game bender at the Chuck E. Cheese's, only with booze. Good booze, of course. Thankfully the old-school wine cellar, one of the country's best, still remains just that. Menu by Chef Dewey LoSasso offers a modern, largely organic twist on everything, from seafood and salads to pastas and steaks. Yes, the classic Forge Super Steak is still on the menu to the delight of many. This re-imagined Forge is nothing like its previous incarnation as a bacchanalian den of decadence, so no more raucous parties or weekly see-and-be-scene fests. Sure, it's decadent, but it's much more subtly so, just like its customers.
