Frommer's Review
Azul is one of the most upscale, prettiest -- and priciest waterfront restaurants in town. The views of the city skyline are stunning and rival the food -- well, almost. Executive chef Clay Conley, who honed his skills with star chef Todd English, creates a tour de force of international cuisine, inspired by Caribbean, French, Argentine, Asian, and even American flavors. Like a stunning designer gown, the restaurant's decor, with its waterfront view, high ceilings, walls burnished in copper, and silk-covered chairs, is complemented by sparkling jewels -- in this case, the food. Among the stand outs: Grilled Chop and Loin of Colorado Lamb with Harrisa; Charred Eggplant, Braised Shank Bastila and Feta; and "A Study in Tuna Roll," Raw Tuna, Tempura Avocado, and Asian Sauces with Ossetra Caviar. Downstairs is the Mandarin's more casual, less expensive Café Sambal, an Asian eatery serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner with the same priceless views.
