Clevelander

A South Beach institution favored by the beer-swilling set, the Clevelander is best known for its neon- and glass-blocked poolside and bar used in countless photo shoots and Budweiser commercials. As far as its reputation as a hotel, it has improved thanks to a major face-lift in the form of new lobby and guest rooms with Wi-Fi, 300-thread-count Egyptian cotton bedding, high-definition plasma TVs, blackout curtains, noise-reducing systems, and flatscreens, and, of course, more bars and a rooftop lounge. Despite the noise-reducing systems, the makeover hasn't really changed the noise level, which on Ocean Drive can be deafening. Party animals don't mind at all. But if your idea of a party doesn't involve drinking challenges and wet-T-shirt contests, visit the Clevelander for a cocktail and stay elsewhere.
