Frommer's Review

Set a bit off the beaten path is this modern, all-suite resident hotel (meaning people can actually rent or buy rooms and live here) that takes luxury very seriously even if it resembles a souped-up motel, with its ground-floor rooms accessible only from a communal outdoor courtyard area. Flying into town? Let the Sanctuary's Bentley pick you up in pure bling-bling style. But don't mistake the flashy car as a sign that the hotel is tacky. It's just the opposite. Soothingly modern, all rooms have full state-of-the-art Italian kitchens, flat plasma-screen televisions, and Wi-Fi. In addition, bathrooms come with Jacuzzi tubs, and in-room fridges are stocked with everything you specify before checking into the hotel. A roof-deck "bedroom" allows you to relax in the sun or slink around in the wading pool. Star chef Douglas Rodriguez recently opened Ola, a fashionable Latin eatery and hot spot situated smack in the middle of the very posh, albeit tiny, lobby.

Facilities:
Restaurant; bar; pool bar; rooftop pool; fitness center; spa; concierge; room service

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
