Century Hotel

Located in South Beach's trendy South of Fifth area, The Century was the hotel of choice for artists, celebrities, musicians, and a slew of quirky, eccentric, Warholian types -- before the area became hip. Practically hidden at the southern tip of South Beach, the Century is a 1939 Hohauser masterpiece, which has been restored and fully modernized, with rooms featuring funky decor, hardwood floors, and a stellar marble bathroom with glass shower. There's no pool, but the beach is literally across the street, and the hotel is within walking distance of some of the hottest restaurants and bars in town. If you're one of those who is too cool to stay with the mainstream at W, staying at the Century is like telling people you live in the coolest apartment building in the hippest neighborhood.
