One Bal Harbour

Formerly a Regent Hotel, which ironically couldn’t make it here or on South Beach, this resort may have no big-name affiliation, but it’s still big-time luxe. Until the St. Regis finishes completion in the former Sheraton Bal Harbour, this is the only oceanfront resort in the area. The penultimate in luxury, suites are resplendent in mahogany floors, with leather walls, panoramic views of the ocean, and bathrooms with 10-foot floor-to-ceiling windows and, our favorite, a free-standing tub overlooking the ocean. Elevators take you directly into your suite, like a luxury apartment building. A Guerlain spa, butler service, spectacular pool and 750 feet of beachfront, and restaurant that seems to be in constant transition will cost you a pretty penny; but if you’re looking to be doted on hand and foot without lifting a finger—except to pay your bill at the end—this is the place.
